FAQs

A 4 part grinder has four sections: a lid, a grinding chamber, a middle section with a fine screen, and a bottom compartment. Ground herb collects in the middle, and fine powder falls through the screen into the base.

You twist the lid to grind, and the ground herb drops through into the storage chamber. If you keep twisting or shaking, the finest particles pass through the mesh screen into the bottom compartment, separate from the rest.

The screen is a fine mesh that separates the fine powder from larger ground herb. This powder (often called kief) collects in the bottom chamber. It's the main feature that sets a 4 part apart from a 3 part.

A 5 part usually adds an extra screen or a separate section, such as a second chamber or a center piece. It gives more control over what collects where, but also more pieces to clean.

Whenever it fills up. It collects only a small amount, so it can take a while. Empty it before it clogs the screen.

Resin and fine particles build up on the mesh. Clean it with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then let it dry. Cleaning regularly keeps the fine powder passing through.
