How To Use a Grinder?

For the most high-brow bowls and joints, no stoner’s toolbox is complete without a grinder.

Even the simplest and cheapest of options can level up your next session and have you feeling like the king of kush.

Lucky for you, The Bong Shop has a range of grinders with 2, 3, 4 and 5 parts to suit your needs. Even better, we can deliver everything from grinders to vaporizers from Brisbane to Melbourne and all the way west – we’ve got you covered.

The Parts To a Grinder

If you’re new to things, you might be wondering why something as simple as a grinder might need up to 5 parts. Well, this accounts for a lid, a grinding bowl, up to two Kief screens, and a collection chamber.

If you’re wondering what Kief is, it’s a powdery, sometimes sticky gold/brown substance that  covers the cannabis plant and can be added to your bowl or joint for some extra oomph.

Some grinders accommodate the Kief and collect it in a separate chamber, while others can be clogged up by it over time.

The lid, grinding bowl and collection chamber are all more self explanatory, and work to contain the ground weed until you’re ready to use it in your toke tool of choice.

How To Use a Grinder

  1. The first step is to load up the grinder, so remove the lid and break up the bud to fit between the grooves around the grinding chamber.

Make sure to avoid placing the weed near the centre of the grinder as this area will do the least grinding as you turn the accessory.

  1. Once your weed is secure, replace the lid and rotate the top while holding the bottom in place. This will force the grinding teeth to chew through the weed, cutting it into finer and finer pieces.
  2. Continue this twisting motion until you feel any resistance disappear, give the grinder a few taps to ensure all ground weed falls through to its collection chamber.
  3. You can now remove the lid and collect your finely ground weed from its chamber, before carefully placing it in your bowl, joint etc.
  4. All that’s left now is to enjoy your hard work, sit back and relax. There are plenty of ways to make use of some finely ground weed, but we’ll leave that for another day.

Cleaning Your Grinder

The sticky nature of grinding weed can make cleaning your grinder a necessity once in a while.

There are a range of options to make your grinder look brand new such as Randy’s Black Label Cleaner, Kush Kleen, or Bong Bath Liquid. A little bit of water and some of these cleaning products are sure to do the trick on any hard to remove grime. When you buy from top notch brands like these you’re sure to see great results. They can be used on a range of surfaces including glass, ceramics, metals and more, meaning not only can they clean your grinder, but plenty of other accessories too.

For a simple, alternative home remedy, we recommend a mixture of rubbing alcohol and salt, scrubbed through the grinder using one of The Bong Shop’s simple cleaning brushes. These tools provide a simple and surefire way to get the most out of your grinder so you can spend more time doing what you do best.

But if your grinder has come to the end of its life, through becoming too grimy, or uncharacteristically broken, The Bong Shop is where you’re sure to find your next best friend.
